Reviews
Ordered a side of salmon for Xmas and received an excellent piece, which was expertly cut and pin boned, which was greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, all varieties of sausage were extremely salty. Unable to feed to our children due to high levels of salt and unpalatable due to low quality of meat used.
Also purchased frozen prawns for Xmas lunch, which was once again a bit disappointing.
Once thawed, they had obviously frozen for some time, as they were tough and dry.
As we had 26 guests, we felt a little let down when quite a few prawns were not eaten.
As these items are expensive, we would expect better quality all round.
Many thanks
Always popular Butchers on Wises Road, Maroochydore.
Today I bought Butter Chicken Sausages, as I have had these before, a few months ago.
These sausages had too much salt for my liking. Not as good as the last time.
Why do Butchers have to use so much salt ?.
Retail is all about quality product and Service. This business has all of this. Couldn't fault it. Staff working as a team with smiles to greet you. Well done. Mary
Very helpful staff, did not try to rush me, I followed his exact instructions on how to cook & meat turned out absolutely perfect, definately will shop here again
What an amazing shop. Loved the huge selection of meats packed in convenient sizes. I am going back to purchase among other things some game meat.
Have been shopping here for years and use to be really good. Have given it the benefit of the doubt over the past couple of months but today is the last time I will shop here.
Have purchased expensive steaks and they haven't been bled properly and have been thrown to my dogs, seems like of late there is never stock on the shelves, staffing is limited and end up waiting for long periods of time to be served and then again today purchased expensive steak and taste funky.
Older lady that works there is the best asset to the place. So friendly and hard working.
Bought so called Rib eye fillet ...paid $62 and regret the expense. The meat was so tough, only good enough to mince or feed to the dog. Never again.
Dear Fresh Meats,
Recently we hired a spit and purchased the lamb to go with it for our wedding. Our experience talking with your various team members on the phone was always pleasant, however everything else leaves much to be desired.
Having placed our order and paid our deposits in May, we had a couple of questions two weeks out from the event date in August. Since we had received no response from our email thread the fortnight before the event, we phoned up to clarify our queries, one of which was confirming the delivery / pickup details.
It was confirmed that both spit and lamb would be delivered early morning the day prior to the event, however when it was still absent after 12pm on delivery day we phoned to follow up. While the staff member was very apologetic, it was clear that it had been forgotten.
Come the event day, the chef goes to cook the lamb but the lamb you provided was too big to close the hood of the spit. So, there was the Father of the Bride sawing the legs of the lamb down to fit in the spit. Later, after said lamb had slowly been rotating, it came off the pole due to it being tied with twine which singed away under the flame. Enter chef and more guests to help rethread the half-cooked carcass and wrap the legs in wire to ensure it would stay attached.
Once cooked the lamb tasted lovely, however it was very stressful to have this experience leading up to and during our wedding, and as the Bride I was furious that our chef had to do so much troubleshooting and so many of our guests had to get involved.
Unfortunately I can also say that our experience post-pickup was still very frustrating. We were issued an invoice for the delivery fee of which we had already paid in May. After we phoned to sort it out, we received the relevant outstanding invoice however the delivery invoice was still attached to our account. Another phone call to explain, then wait for a call back, and another corrected invoice.
As mentioned, dealing with your staff was pleasant, however every time we phoned we had to re-explain the situation as there seemed to be a complete lack of continuity. I genuinely believe if we didn't follow-up the fortnight AND week AND day before our event, we would have been without a meal for our wedding. I read in other reviews that you have 120 staff working for your family-run company, though it's clear to me that [at least some of] your processes are ill-performing. I also noticed that you've had a few poor reviews recently which has instigated someone to take response about 3 weeks ago.
Might I suggest reviewing and taking action of your internal business processes to improve customer experience, provide role clarity to your staff and save everyone time? If you would like some help with managing your business processes, let's chat as this is my day job, otherwise I wish you all the best of luck and hope your business can reclaim its reputation.
